CV | Dragoș Petrescu este profesor de politică comparată la Facultatea de Științe Politice, Universitatea din București. A fost președinte al Consiliului Național pentru Studierea Arhivelor Securității (CNSAS), 2010–2018 și director al Institutului Român de Istorie Recentă (IRIR), 2003–2006. Este autorul a Entangled Revolutions: The Breakdown of the Communist Regimes in East-Central Europe (Bucharest: Editura Enciclopedică, 2014) and Explaining the Romanian Revolution of 1989: Culture, Structure, and Contingency (Bucharest: Editura Enciclopedică, 2010), și co-editorul a Nation-Building and Contested Identities: Romanian & Hungarian Case Studies (Budapest and Bucharest: Regio Books & Polirom, 2001).

Domenii de cercetare: Analiza comparativă a regimurilor comuniste din Europa Centrală și de Est, tranzițiile către democrație și transformările digitale și tehnopolitica din regiune.

Cursuri: Studii de politică comparativă și securitate la secțiunile engleză și română (SPE, IRES, SPR și SSL) licență, și în politică comparativă la nivel de master – MCP.
