CV | Irina Nastasă-Matei, holds a PhD in History from Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj. She is the author of the monograph Education, Politics, and Propaganda: Romanian Students in Nazi Germany (Cluj: Școala Ardeleană Publishing House / Bucharest: Eikon, 2016); co-author of the volumes Kultur und Propaganda. Das Rumänische Institut in Berlin (1940–1945) (Frank & Timme Verlag, 2023, with Lucian Nastasă-Kovacs) and Yiddish Culture in Greater Romania, 1918–1940 (CEU Press, 2025, with Camelia Crăciun, Valentin Săndulescu, and Francisca Solomon); and co-editor of the volume Negotiating In/visibility: Women, Science, Engineering and Medicine in the Twentieth Century (Manchester University Press, 2025, with Amelia Bonea).

Research fields: Romanian-German relations, transnationalism, academic migration, cultural policies, cultural diplomacy/soft power/propaganda, German studies, Jewish studies, history of science, history of women.
