RUXANDRA IVAN

Academic title: Associate Professor (tenured position)

CV | Ruxandra Ivan is a lecturer at the Faculty of Political Science of the University of Bucharest, where she teaches courses in international politics, Romanian foreign policy, theories of international relations and policies of the European Union. She also coordinates the Master of International Relations. She has a PhD in Political Science from the Free University of Brussels, obtained in 2007, followed by a post-doctoral internship at the Romanian Academy, Iasi branch, and has been able to lead doctoral theses in the field of Political Science since 2017. She taught as a visiting professor at universities in the country and abroad such as University Paris 3 Sorbonne Nouvelle (2016), Cheik Anta Diop University in Dakar (2010), A.I. Cuza University in Iasi (2003-2006), Ovidius University in Constanta (2009-2011). In addition to her university career, which began in 2003, she worked as an expert at the Institute for the Investigation of Communist Crimes in Romania (2007), a researcher at the Romanian diplomatic Institute (2008-2015), a counselor at the Prime Minister’s Chancellery, the Cabinet of the Secretary of State for the Centenary (2016-2017), and a counselor at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cabinet of the Minister Delegate for European Affairs (2017-2018). Ruxandra Ivan has published over 40 articles in specialized scientific journals and 11 volumes as an author or collaborator, the most important of which are: La politique étrangère roumaine, 1990-2006, Bruxelles, Editions de l’Université de Bruxelles, 2009; (Ed.), New Regionalism or No Regionalism? Emerging Regionalism in the Black Sea Area, London, Ashgate, 2012 (reeditare Routledge, 2016); (Ed.), “Transformarea socialistă”: politici ale regimului comunist, între ideologie şi administraţie, Iași, Polirom, 2009.
