CV | Ligia Livadă-Cadeschi is a graduate of the Faculty of History of the University of Bucharest (1991) and holds a PhD of History of the Institute of South-East European Studies of the Romanian Academy (2000). She is a Professor at the Faculty of Political Sciences of the University of Bucharest and scientific researcher at the Institute of South-East European Studies of the Romanian Academy.

Research fields: History of poverty, welfare facilities and social welfare institutions (sec. XVIII-XX), the social history of the medicine of the Romanian society (sec. XIX-XX), the history of slavery and abolitionism in the Romanian Principalities (sec. XIX).
